A taxidermist’s work

Epiphora is a PC exploration game built around MetroidBrainia mechanics. You play as Blake Stanley, a wandering taxidermist who specializes in anatomy and wants to preserve flesh in glass, beyond the reach of decay. His work becomes a series of performances, presented alongside his carriage.

Blake’s interest is less in the objects he preserves than in the boundaries that define them. After a wealthy patron offers him space in a mansion, he gets the chance to bring new creations to life and capture a breath. The work puts his impulse to preserve life in conflict with something he doesn’t recognize in himself.
