Poker and combat

Ember District is a PC roguelike deckbuilder set in a post-apocalyptic world. You use poker hands to attack enemies, building a character through combat progression and choices made during each run. Familiar poker rules provide the starting point, but your build can turn a High Card into a main damage source or make a Royal Flush show up more regularly.

Building a run

Combine Pacts, Star Sigils, and equipment to strengthen hands, stack multipliers, and fill gaps in a build. The game has more than 130 Star Sigils, 120 Pacts, and 30 pieces of equipment, with combinations that can change how a hand deals damage. You also develop your poker hands during a run and build lasting strength between runs as you try different combinations.
