Ember

Desktop familiar

Ember is a PC desktop pet with on-device AI. You can talk to him, and he remembers what you tell him across sessions. His mood changes from day to day, and he walks along the taskbar while muttering to himself. Tap his legs and he follows your cursor; press Ctrl+Alt+H to tuck him into a corner.

Text and documents

Select text in another program to open Ember’s menu. From there, you can translate text into 29 languages, summarize or explain it, hear it read aloud, copy it, or save it to his grimoire. You can also point him at folders of PDF, Word, TXT, and Markdown files and ask questions. Answers include numbered citations that open the relevant file at the right page.
