The Historical Significance of Senet

Dating back to around 3500 BC, Senet holds the title of the world’s oldest known board game. Initially thought to be a recreational activity among both Egyptians of noble blood and common folk, it eventually morphed into a ritualistic symbol of the afterlife. Stories depict the game being played not against another opponent, but against an invisible force, reflecting the player's soul's journey through the afterlife.
