Desktop village

Desktop Goblins is a PC desktop village simulator that runs over your Windows wallpaper while you work. Goblins build across your desktop icons, in front of or behind your windows, and carry out their own chopping, hauling, mining and construction. You can watch huts grow into stone houses, with platforms suspended above one another and an express lift carrying miners up a tower.

Economy and trouble

Each goblin has a strength, intelligence, wage and mood. The village has a treasury and a chief who can skim from it; that can lead to strikes and riots with demands. Mines bring cave-ins, iron, gems, rail carts and a canary. Fire can spread through the village, while fire brigades and fire-resistant stone offer ways to contend with it.
