Der Prozess: A Kafka Trial

A trial without a charge

Der Prozess: A Kafka Trial is a PC game freely based on Franz Kafka’s The Trial. Jo K. wakes to find her access suspended, with no crime, accuser, or responsible office identified. You follow her case through eleven connected chapters, from the first notice to the end, visiting court offices, waiting rooms, a studio, and a cathedral.

Searching the record

The world appears as points of light drawn from what the system has recorded about Jo. You scan these data spaces and reshape them to reveal places such as a bed, a window, or a corridor full of forms. You can preserve moments, but there aren’t enough points to keep everything. What you save is missing from the world you walk through, while the preserved moments grow in a garden outside the record.
