Desktop companion

Cursor Cult is a pixel-art desktop companion for PC, with a small island docked at the edge of your screen. Two tribes live at opposite ends and worship your mouse cursor as the Sky Hand. Every 20 seconds, their priests read the trail it left as an omen, then guide their tribe according to what they saw. You can leave the game running while using your computer, or move the cursor deliberately to influence the island.

Cursor omens

Different movements lead to different changes. Circles bring farming, while long vertical strokes build industry such as lumber operations, quarries and workshops. Horizontal strokes encourage trade, and frantic shaking brings weapons and towers, worsening relations and potentially starting a war. Slow wandering encourages peace. Resting the cursor over the island leads to more faith, while moving it along the far edge of the screen brings learning. If you don’t move, nothing changes, and long silences make the tribes uneasy.
