Political career simulation

Chronicle of Civic Governance is a PC political and government simulation set in the fictional Republic of Chenglan, beginning in spring 1998. You start with local issues such as a muddy village road, an irrigation dispute, an understaffed school, and a limited public budget. From there, you build a political career by campaigning, taking office, debating opponents, managing public works and budgets, and negotiating with legislatures.

There’s no fixed promotion ladder. You can stay in a legislature, seek executive office, take a departmental appointment, support an ally, run for a higher-level office, return to local politics, or pursue a national career. Your role changes what you can do: legislators can question the government, introduce bills, and vote, while executives control departments and budgets. Major projects can still require legislative approval and public scrutiny.
