Chessformer: A Puzzle Platformer with a Twist

Chessformer is a clever blend of puzzle and platforming set in a grid-based world. Chess pieces are your main characters, each adhering to their traditional movements. However, the twist is that they fall after each move, creating a dynamic challenge that sets it apart from typical puzzle platformers. Your primary goal? Capture the opposing king, who’s quite lazy and remains stationary throughout the game.

Traditional Chess Mechanics Reimagined

In Chessformer, classic chess pieces like pawns, rooks, and knights obey the same rules you’d find on a chessboard. Each piece moves according to its designated pattern, but the fall mechanic introduces a fresh layer of strategy. Timing your moves becomes crucial as pieces tumble into place, sometimes creating unexpected combinations. It's an inventive take that maintains the essence of chess while adding platforming elements.
