Backwater Eulogy

A Reflection on Grief in Backwater Eulogy

In Backwater Eulogy, players engage with a narrative that delves deep into the emotional landscape of loss and grief. This visual novel serves as a poignant exploration of how we cope with sorrow, particularly in the context of life lived in the rural Midwest. A linear story unfolds without choices or alternate paths, allowing players to focus entirely on the narrative that takes them through this condensed but impactful experience.

Linear Narrative Focused on Emotional Depth

The game requires players to engage with its story fully, as there are no branching narratives to distract from the central theme. The structure is designed to be consumed in one setting, with a run time of about 10 to 15 minutes. Each moment draws you further into the protagonist's reflective journey, emphasizing the heavy nature of grief while also spotlighting moments of contemplation and insight.
