Backrooms: New Gate

Step into the Uncanny World of Backrooms: New Gate

Backrooms: New Gate invites players to wander through its eerie locales on PC. As an Early Access title with plans for ongoing updates, this atmospheric experience defies traditional gameplay. Rather than completing quests, players simply exist within an unsettling environment, accentuated by their inherent fears of darkness and isolation. The current build features the “Pool Rooms” chapter, offering about 45-60 minutes of exploration.

Atmosphere and Environment Design

The game emphasizes a haunting ambiance, drawing players into the unsettling pool rooms devoid of quests or narrative. Instead of guided experiences, Backrooms allows for spontaneous contemplation without distractions like dialogues or music. The environment plays a critical role, utilizing natural sounds and echoing emptiness to envelop players in its mysterious charm. Each room whispers hints of hidden meaning as players explore.
