Ashnar's Lair is a turn-based, grid-based traditional roguelike set across 13 dungeons. You guide one character through each run, fighting monsters, avoiding traps, searching vaults and collecting loot. Nothing moves until you do, so every step, attack and sip from a fountain uses a turn.

The world map stays the same, but the floors, monsters, traps, fountains, vaults and loot are generated fresh each run. Dungeon titles name their dangers: “The Vicious Barrows of Flooding,” for example, signals what waits inside. Clear a dungeon and the rest of its region rerolls at a higher difficulty.
