Game premise and mechanics

Aquaculture Simulator is a management simulation game for PC where you operate an indoor recirculating aquaculture facility. The gameplay revolves around raising two types of fish: rainbow trout and koi. Rainbow trout are grown and sold by weight for consistent, though thin, profit margins, while koi are evaluated based on their visual characteristics, such as pattern, color, and body conformation.

Managing resources and decisions

As you manage the facility, you'll make important decisions about which fish to raise and how much to feed them. Koi do not reveal their final quality until they mature, creating uncertainty in long-term investment strategies. You must balance feeding low-grade stock against the risk of increasing costs without guaranteed returns, particularly as each fish consumes feed daily.
