Anabasis - The Long March is a historical, turn-based survival strategy game about a Greek mercenary army marching through the Persian Empire in 401 BC. Inspired by Xenophon’s account of the Ten Thousand, it follows an expedition that turns into a struggle to get home. You command the column as it travels from Sardis toward the Black Sea, trying to keep the soldiers alive and your authority intact.

Daily command

Each day, set the army’s marching pace, distribute rations, organize foraging, and decide when to rest. A forced march can cover more ground, but it leaves exhausted soldiers and wounded men at risk of falling behind. Cutting rations saves supplies while weakening hungry soldiers. You have to weigh food against morale, exhaustion, cohesion, and the needs of the wounded, with the effects of those decisions carrying into later days.
