Game premise and objective

Almost Retired is a PC game focused on resource management and mining within a space setting. You play as a miner nearing retirement after forty years of work. The main task centers around extracting resources from meteors, selling the materials for profit, and contributing to a retirement fund. When the fund is complete, you can retire to a planet depicted in a brochure from your past.

Mining mechanics

Mining involves using one of three tools, each suited for different tasks. SHOCK quickly removes the outer layer of a meteor but can waste resources. The LASER is versatile but operates slowly, while the ION tool precisely splits the rock without losing any materials. You need to choose the right tool based on the layers of the meteor you are working on for the best results.
