A Ballad of Grief

Search in Hueso Santo

A Ballad of Grief is a psychological horror game for PC about Gabriel, a man searching for his missing son in Hueso Santo, a remote town in Chile’s Valparaíso Region. Gabriel has a dark past, and the clues that bring him to town point to something badly wrong. You explore, investigate what happened, and piece together the story through evidence left by others.

Mental health and survival

Gabriel’s psychological state affects both what he perceives and the mechanics available to you. Anxiety and fear can bring on panic attacks, hallucinations, and delusions. Neglecting his mental health has practical consequences: enemies, locations, and gameplay can change. You’ll need to manage scarce resources, keep track of your inventory, and use medication when necessary. At times, you won’t be able to control what happens and will have to focus on surviving it.
