A Glimpse into the ED4M Train's History

The ED4M is a modernized direct current electric multiple unit (EMU) built on the foundation of earlier models, like the ER2 and ED2T series. Developed by the Demikhovo Engineering Plant in Russia, production began in 1996. Post-Soviet transfers and purchases by Ukrzaliznytsia introduced these trains to Ukrainian routes. Several units were locally upgraded, ensuring relevance in the evolving rail environment.
