Layers of Fear (2016) - Soundtrack

Original Soundscape of Layers of Fear

The Layers of Fear soundtrack, composed by Arkadiusz Reikowski, serves as an eerie companion to the chilling experience presented in the base game. This DLC is designed to enhance the psychological horror atmosphere, enveloping players in soundscapes that mirror the unraveling sanity of its protagonist, the Painter. Rather than being a standalone experience, this soundtrack adds depth to the narrative of the original game.

Two Distinct Parts of Composition

Reikowski’s composition features two contrasting elements. The first part highlights a lyrical quality that symbolizes the Painter’s wife, creating a haunting yet beautiful atmosphere. In stark contrast, the second part of the soundtrack immerses you in dark, dissonant tones that encapsulate the creeping madness experienced throughout the game's storyline. Each note resonates with fear, making the soundtrack an essential auditory experience alongside the gameplay.
