Custom conversations

Farewell - Resident Chat is a free PC DLC for Farewell that adds typed conversations with the town’s residents. Instead of choosing only from the usual dialogue options, you can select “Say something else…” and type your own words. Residents reply based on what they did that day, who they know, and what they think of you. Two neighbours chatting in the street use Resident Chat too.

What residents remember

When you leave a conversation, a resident keeps a few notes about you, such as your name, what you do and what you promised. They can bring those details up the next time you meet. Talking can change how a resident feels about you a little, but it doesn’t give you items or money. An exchange lasts a few minutes; after a handful of replies, the resident gets back to work. Press Esc to return to the usual options, or choose “I’ll be going” to end the conversation.
